Major Entropia Events Client Update Released!
A major Entropia Events Client update has now been released, bringing one of the most important stability and synchronization upgrades so far.
This update focused heavily on making the desktop client and website work together properly as one connected system. The goal was simple: users should be able to login, link their account, save their avatar name, connect their chat.log file and start Live Sync without needing to follow one fragile exact order.
That system has now been rebuilt and tested.
The desktop client and website now stay synchronized much more reliably. Users can login from the desktop client or directly from the website, and the account connection will still be handed back to the app correctly. This means users who register or login on the site first can still download the desktop client later and connect everything without needing awkward extra steps.
Avatar name setup has also been improved. Users can now save their Entropia Universe avatar name either inside the desktop client or from the website User Control Panel. Both methods update the same account data, and both sides now synchronize with each other. If the avatar name is added on the website, the desktop client can automatically display it. If it is added inside the app, the website will also reflect the saved name.
The bridge status system has also been improved so the website and desktop client now better match each other. Login state, logout state, bridge connection, chat.log linking, Live Sync status and avatar verification status are now much more consistent across both systems. Logout handling has also been improved so old bridge states are cleared instead of remaining incorrectly displayed as connected.
The desktop protocol system has been rebuilt to work more reliably for normal users. The client now registers the Entropia Events app link using the current Windows user instead of requiring administrator-level registry access. This should prevent protocol registration problems and make the browser-to-app login handoff more dependable.
The app now has clearer logging for authentication, bridge updates, avatar syncing and setup issues. This should make support and testing much easier because the Logs tab now gives better feedback when something connects, updates, fails or needs attention.
Several website-side fixes were also completed alongside the app update. The User Control Panel now supports avatar name saving again, avatar names and avatar slugs are saved more consistently, and avatar verification state is reset correctly when an avatar name is changed. The website login flow now routes through the desktop launch process so the app and site can stay linked properly.
Live Sync and chat.log linking have also been tested again from a clean setup. The full setup flow now works from login, through avatar name sync, chat.log linking, Live Sync activation and avatar verification.
A new Installation Guide has also been added to help users set up the desktop client correctly. The guide explains the recommended setup order, how to login, where avatar names can be entered, how to link chat.log, how to start Live Sync and how avatar verification works. A direct Installation Guide button has also been added inside the desktop client.
This update also includes important event tracking fixes. Event parsing now has better event-type protection so activity from one event category does not get counted toward the wrong event type. For example, hunting activity should no longer be applied to mining, crafting, fishing or other non-hunting event scores. This keeps event scoring cleaner and safer as more event types are added.
Overall, this update makes the Entropia Events Client much more reliable, much easier to set up and much harder to break by doing things in a different order.
The desktop client is now behaving much closer to how it was originally intended: the website and app stay in sync, account setup is more flexible, and the bridge between Entropia Events and Entropia Universe chat.log tracking is much stronger.
